Constantin leaned across, looking out the window but still careful not to touch Ebony. [I don't need to go to places like that] Constantin thought. He could get pretty much any woman or man he wanted, without having to go to noisy clubs. Oddly enough, he could hear Ebony's head beat louder as he leaned in closer. Constantin turned to look at Ebony, his ruby eyes meeting her black ones.
Constantin sat back in his seat. [And you've lived there your whole life?] he asked her.

Ebony glance up at the vampire who was leaning over her and grinned. He smelt really good, she couldn't imagine that being cologne. But he was also pretty cold, he probably was the worst thing to cuddle. Ebony's eyes widened as she abandoned that thought immediately. [What about there?] She asked, pointing up to another building as the car began to move again. While the building looked very old, it's sign that appeared original had been outlined with neon lights and also ornamented with silhouettes of naked woman. [No I haven't, I live a subdivision about four hours from here] She explained.

Constantin turned, glancing out the window to where Ebony was looking. An old building, with several statues on its facade. Ebony was looking at it with bright eyes. [Not inside] he said. Though he'd been around the building before. [I've not been to a play before.] he added, being in perhaps a slightly more open mood at the moment. Though that wasn't completely true, a few times, long ago he'd seen companies of traveling players. But Constantin didn't see much of a point in sitting in the dark,watching people pretend something for several hours. [Have you not been to a large city before?] he asked her, curious. She looked like everything was new to her.

Ebony suddenly turned to the window staring out at the lights and buildings. Ebony had always been a small down girl, so seeing the city at night was something special. "Look at the architecture! Is that a theater? It looks so pretty!" The taxi had paused at some lights outside a very old looking theater. Ebony glanced over at Constantin [Have you ever been there?] She asked him, trying to get him excited, at least relaxed about being there.

Luna looked up as the demoness and grinned, "Thanks" she said,"Nice dress." She stood, and the three walked out the door. The taxi was waiting outside for them. Luna let Constantin and Ebony sit in the back while she sat in the front. None of them wanted to be squished in the same seat. She smiled at the taxi driver, who immediately brightened upon seeing her. Luna gave the address and they were off.
Constantin was silent, staring out the window. He'd never been in a taxi before, though it wasn't particularly exciting. Both Ebony and Luna were talking happily. Constantin realized he had no idea where they were going. Luna purposefully hadn't told him, she knew Constantin would refuse to go if he knew. He was always hesitant to go to new places.

Ebony hadn't done anything to her hair, mostly because she didn't know how. But she'd pulled on one of her favourite blue and white dresses and shrugged on a blue cardigan over top. After applying some soft pink lip gloss, she stepped out her room and wandered down stairs to find the two vampires in the lobby. "I called a taxi, it should be outside- hey! Pretty hair Luna!" She exclaimed.

Costantin blinked. It was his turn to be surprised. People didn't ask him out... Before he even realized what he was doing, Constantin nodded."Alright," he said. He actually wasn't too upset he'd agreed to go. Luna nodded,"I'd love to" she said.

*trips into black hole,comes out several hours later at nightfall*

Constantin peeked his head into Luna's room. She sat on the bed, fixing her hair up. Twenty years of never going out without making sure she was properly dressed had become a habit. "one moment," she said to her brother, then stood. "Ready?" she asked.As usual, Constantin had done nothing. Luna was quite sure that he would wear the exact same clothes every day if she didn't make him change. He would point out that vampires wouldn't get clothes dirty. Luna closed her door, then the two started down the stairs to the front lobby. There, Luna sat in the chair by the entrance while Constantin stood by her, waiting for Ebony who was just coming down the stairs.

Ebony nodded. "Loud, fun and sometimes frustrating family" She replied. But she loved them to bits. Especially Adam. Ebony then glanced over at Constantin, and with a shy smile she said, "I'd like to go out". She toyed with a curl in her hair. "You should come too Luna" Ebony encouraged.

"Big family" Luna said,listening to Ebony's description. And an interesting one to be sure, everybody was of a different species. "Almost as many as your family" she said to her brother with a little grin. Luna, having grown up with only two siblings in a large house could not imagine it.
She turned to her brother. "I guess we don't have any plans" Luna said. "I'm going out." Constantin said, glancing at the window. He needed to feed within the next day or two or he'd start getting hungry. It was never good to leave it until the last day, one rainy night could keep all the humans inside. "Are you planning on doing anything?" Luna asked the woman.

Ebony grinned. "I can imagine" she replied. Ebony stood from the bed and went to her suit case, taking out a cream crochet cardigan and shrugged it on. She glanced over her shoulder. "My family is fairly large" She said. "The eldest is Serenity, and she's elvish, except her English is very poor, she's about 27. Then there's Adam and he's 23, then Leora..." Ebony's expression tightened. "She's a fairy... and she's 21, then there's me, then there's my brother Spencer, he's human well we think he is. He might be the reincarnation of Einstein. We're not sure. He's an absolute genius. He's 16. Then there's my twin younger siblings, ((who I cannot for the love of God, remember their names, all I remember is that their albino and one's a boy and one's a girl)), they are 14"
Ebony took a deep breath, and then grinned. "So there's a lot of us" She shrugged. Ebony hopped back on the bed and bounced on the spot for a moment. "So what were you two planning on doing tonight?" She asked.

Constantin smirked. "We don't read thoughts much," Luna pointed out, "It gets difficult and very confusing." Too many thoughts in a head at one point just led to migraines. She grinned at her brother,it looked like the two were getting along. "What about you?" Ebony suddenly asked. "Have you got any other family? You said you had.. a brother, was it?" An angel? She'd heard of them, but never knew whether they existed. The human world would go insane should they hear of that.

Ebony gazed into space. It was the strangest thing, like being teleported to a different planet while feeling the sensations of the room around you. Then she frowned and glanced over at the vampire. "Says the man listening to my private thoughts as we speak..." She then poked her tongue, however partially serious.

Constantin nodded. "Whatever we imagine," he said, as suddenly the world seemed to melt away from Ebony. An image of a city at night, people walking home from the clubs and bars. A glimpse of what Constantin had seen last night, nothing particularly exciting. He smirked as the woman's eyes widened. She looked almost like a child, so amazed at it all. But his expression dropped as he heard her next though. [No. It's not pleasant at all.] he thought. To have another always in your mind, to never have a private thought...

Ebony's brows knitted in the center, shaking her head. She stared at the vampire for a moment. [Do it again] Ebony bit her lip and tiny smile appeared on her lips, almost invisible. "Can you show like... images and stuff or is it just words?" She asked. It was the most bizarre thing, having another entity in her head. Surprising but comforting, if you wanted... you'd never have to be alone.

Constantin raised an eyebrow. Wasn't she aware of it? Most immortals of all species had this ability. "It's quite common," he said, genuinely surprised. "You can't.." All the demons he'd met were able to do it. Then again, he thought as he heard her soft breaths, Ebony was almost human. Perhaps that was it, then. And after all, she was very young.

Ebony's eyes widened, she clapped her hands over her ears and stared at the vampire. "How can I hear you in my head?" She said, very quickly. Was this what it was like to be schizophrenic? The vampire was interesting too, but frustrating all the same. Not like anyone she'd ever met before.

Constantin could see a blush on Ebony's face. [Not very often.] he murmured, trailing off and sounding almost amused. [But you are quite interesting...] Ebony was nothing like the demons he'd known, he was not so frightened of her anymore. Not that he trusted her. Of course, he barely trusted anyone. But she was interesting. Much better than the mortals he fed on.
Luna, too polite to listen in on the conversation, leaned back. She hoped her brother wouldn't offend Ebony. This was the most social she'd ever seen him with a stranger.

Ebony nodded. Well that would make sense, sleeping in coffins would just be inconvenient. Suddenly Ebony caught Constantin's eye and heart heart stopped. Not out of attraction, not out of fear. But embarrassment. Then she narrowed her eyes. [How many times have you read my mind since you've met me?] She asked the brooding vampire.

Constantin smirked at Ebony's expression. It wasn't exactly uncommon for this reaction to happen, hell, Luna had been in shock for a while after he'd told her. He was old for his species, not many immortals of any kind survived for that long. "It's not quite so spectacular" he finally said,after Ebony had been staring at him for a few moments.
Luna shrugged. "Nothing too special" she said with a grin, "We can't turn into bats or sleep in coffins the way some mortals seem to think." Her (real) brother had taken her to see Dracula when it came out. She'd found it a hilarious movie. Constantin was suddenly looking into Ebony's eyes, "We can listen in on thoughts," he said with a dastardly smirk. "We don't do it often though." Luna added with a stern look at her brother. For one, it would get confusing to have two sets of thoughts in your head.

Ebony's eyes widened at Luna's age, but when Constantin spoke, her lips parted and she gazed at him for a period of five second. Eight... hundred... years?! Ebony ran her fingers through her hair. One would think his sense would improve over that time... he wore a lot of black.
"Right... that's fortunate then" She replied. "So... do you have any other particular abilities?" She asked.

"I'm a little over a century," Luna said with a smile. Not terribly old for one of her species, many could live to be several hundred. Constantin glanced up, "I'm almost 800" he said, after Luna had mentally prodded him to say something. "Pretty obvious we're not biological siblings," Luna added with a grin. Though it was very common for immortals of all kinds to form "families" with those they were not related to. Few were lucky enough to be turned with their relatives or friends.
Luna shook her head, "I made a deal with Marcel.. the clerk here," she clarified. "He'll keep the curtains closed," Vampires couldn't teleport after dawn, so Constantin and Luna would have been stuck in Ebony's room otherwise. (I just made that up. )

Ebony nodded. She shouldn't be surprised at the idea that these two could be very old... but is was fascinating. Like being in the room with time, something that existed years ago that she shouldn't be around because of universal constraints. "How old are you two?" She asked quietly.
Ebony then shook her head. "No I understand that... but it's a really sunny day outside, if you step out of here you might fry..." She explained. Had they already arranged something? Did the owners know?

Luna nodded, "People, sometimes mortal and sometimes not, who have devoted their lives to hunting down dangerous immortals. Especially vampires," she added. Because the very nature of a vampire required them to kill. Whereas a wolf, for example, could be utterly harmless to everyone but rabbits. "We've been living in New York for several years now.. long ago, I came from London." She glanced over at Constantin, "My brother has lived in a lot of places before he came here," Constantin frowned, not particularly fond of talking about his life.
At her next question, Luna smiled at Ebony. "Contrary to stereotype, we don't need sleep unless we're starving or injured," she said. "We can sleep if we manage to relax ourselves enough." Sometimes Luna slept, on days when there wasn't much to do. Constantin didn't.

Ebony raised her eyebrows. "Slayers?" She asked, trying to get her tongue around the word. She'd never come across anything like that before... then again no one in her home was considered "dangerous" - an exception for her, and the majority of the time... she was harmless. "Where were you originally settled? Is it far from here?" She asked.
Ebony was beginning to see the relationship between the two of them, Luna was had a firm grip on common sense, but worried a lot. But it was rational. Constantin was... irrational, impulsive, and neurotic. But protective. And protection meant deep down there was an underlying compassion.
"I have a question for you guys... um... it's like ten o'clock in the morning... how are you guys up and about?" She asked.

Luna glanced over at Constantin but he'd fallen silent, looking away from them though it was clear he was still listening. "We don't know," she said. "A group of slayers figured out where we lived.. we've been attacked twice in the past week. We had to leave." She still didn't know where they were going to go, they'd have to find an apartment somewhere. The attacks had scared her, she'd never experienced this before. Constantin was of a different opinion. "They were weak and young," he muttered. "I don't see why we had to leave." It was true, either attack had actually caused any damage to them. Well, the couch was dead and somehow her brother had managed to stick a knife into the living room wall. "But we weren't sure who else knew where we lived. It was too dangerous to stay there." Luna was glad Ebony was staying for a while. Luna quite liked her, and she was beginning to suspect Constantin at least didn't hate her...
